01 The Studio Consultation

Book a Studio Consultation.

Sixty minutes at our Armenian Street atelier with one of four principal designers. The session is paid at S$280, held Tuesday through Saturday, and ends with a written brief, a preliminary scope, and an honest read on whether Singgahsana is the right studio for the project you have in mind.

02 The Sixty Minutes

A working session, not a sales call.

The consultation is structured, unhurried, and led by a principal designer from start to finish. There is no deck, no salesperson, and no follow-up funnel. You will leave with a one-page written brief and a clear next step — whether that is a full engagement with the studio or a referral to a peer firm better suited to the project.

  1. I.

A principal designer, not an account executive.

You will be met by one of our four principal designers — each averaging 18 years of practice across Singapore, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur. The first ten minutes are a conversation: how the household lives, what the existing space is asking for, and the constraints that have already shaped your thinking.

  2. II.

Reference projects and material samples, brought to you.

Three to five finished Singgahsana projects — closely matched to your property type and brief — are walked through in print and on screen. We bring the joinery samples, stone off-cuts, fabric memos and finish boards that are most relevant to your home, so the conversation is grounded in real materials rather than mood boards.

  3. III.

A preliminary scope, sketched in the room.

By the halfway mark we outline a preliminary scope: which rooms are in, which are out, which existing elements are worth retaining, and the rough order of construction. You will see a first-pass indicative budget band — the same fixed-price structure we use on signed engagements, so there are no surprises later.

  4. IV.

A one-page written brief, before you leave.

The meeting closes with a single printed page summarising the brief, the indicative scope and the next-step proposal. The S$280 is fully redeemable against any subsequent Singgahsana engagement, and we will tell you plainly within 48 hours whether the studio has the capacity and the fit to take the project on.

By submitting, you consent to the studio contacting you to confirm a Tuesday – Saturday slot. We do not share your details with third parties.

04 Practical Questions

Before you commit to a paid meeting.

Five questions discerning homeowners tend to ask before paying a consultation fee they have not paid before. The answers, plainly.

  • Is the S$280 redeemable against a full engagement?

Yes, in full and without conditions. If the studio takes on the project, the S$280 is credited against the design fee on the fixed-price contract. If we decline the project, or if you decide not to proceed, the consultation fee stands as payment for the principal designer’s time — it is not a holding deposit and there is no further obligation.

  • Will I be meeting a principal designer or a salesperson?

A principal designer — always. The studio does not employ business development staff, and consultations are never delegated to junior designers or external consultants. Our four principal designers each average 18 years of practice; the one who attends will be the one who would lead the project, should it proceed.

  • Can I bring my architect, contractor or partner?

You are welcome to bring up to two additional people — a spouse, an architect already engaged on the property, or a contractor whose pricing transparency you would like to align with. The room seats four comfortably around the material boards. If you would like to bring more, please let us know in advance so we can move to the larger Studio I.

  • What if the studio is not the right fit?

We will tell you within 48 hours. The studio capped its 2024 intake at 38 – 42 projects and turned away 71% of inbound enquiries to protect the quality of the work it does accept. If we are not the right atelier for your brief, budget band, or timeline, we will say so plainly and, where appropriate, refer you to a peer firm we trust.

  • How quickly can a consultation be arranged?

Most slots are confirmed within five to seven working days of submission. We hold Tuesday through Saturday availability, 10.00 to 18.00, and aim to pair you with the principal designer whose recent project portfolio is closest to your property type. Custom joinery lead times — if the project proceeds — begin at 10 to 14 days from our in-house MacPherson workshop, shorter than the industry baseline of six to ten weeks.
